23:00 - American Horror Story Co-Stars End Engagement
Emma Roberts and Evan Peters have called off their engagement, People reports.
Roberts, 24, and Peters, 28, reportedly grew apart after being together for three years. The two met on the film Adult World, and also co-starred on the Coven and Freak Show installments of American Horror Story. Peters proposed over the holidays in 2013, just months after Roberts was arrested following a domestic violence incident; Peters did not press charges.
It's probably not a coincidence that Roberts has (so far) not joined American Horror Story: Hotel, which will co-star Peters. She can, however, next be seen on the upcoming Fox show Scream Queens. But will they both ever co-star together on AHS again?
14:00 - MOVIES: Fifty Shades of Grey - Stars Aren't Signed for Spinoff
On June 1, EL James announced a spinoff of her Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy: Grey, which will retell the kinky tale from Christian Grey's perspective.
But will the book migrate to the big screen, too? Sources say Universal owns the rights to adapt Grey for film given that it controls the characters.
But sources say neither Dakota Johnson (who plays submissive heroine Anastasia Steele) nor Jamie Dornan (billionaire S&M enthusiast Grey), who are contracted to star in three Fifty Shades films, have spinoff language in their deals. Furthermore, neither had any idea that the Grey novel, which would likely serve as the fourth film in the Fifty Shades oeuvre, was in the works.
The bestselling author says that the book, to be called Grey, will be out on June 18 — fictional character Christian Grey’s birthday — and will be written from his point of view. It will allow readers the chance to get inside the head of the S&M-loving businessman, not to mention give James and her publishers Vintage Books an opportunity make a shedload more money from recycling the same events to the series’ enthusiastic fans. Penguin Random House UK also will release the book in the UK on June 18.
“Christian is a complex character,” E.L. James says, “and readers have always been fascinated by his desires and motivations, and his troubled past. Also, as anyone who has ever been in a relationship knows, there are two sides to every story. It’s been a great pleasure to return to my happy place — writing, being with Christian and Ana in their universe, and working with the fantastic team at Vintage.”
