MOVIES: Sesame Street - Jonathan Krisel to Direct Live-Action Musical Adaptation
Sources tell Variety that “Portlandia” director and co-creator, Jonathan Krisel, is set to helm the live-action “Sesame Street” movie for Warner Bros. The film will be a musical, according to sources.
Shawn Levy is producing with Michael Aguilar. Mike Rosolio penned the first draft, while Chris Galletta wrote the most recent version, which he’s polishing. Sesame Workshop, which holds the rights to the show, will also be involved in the development of the project.
Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist - Musical Dramedy in Development at NBC
EXCLUSIVE: NBC has given a script commitment plus penalty to Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, an hourlong musical dramedy from Jake in Progress creator Austin Winsberg, Paul Feig (Bridesmaids), Eric and Kim Tannenbaum (Two and a Half Men), Universal Music Group and Lionsgate TV.
Written by Winsberg and to be directed by Feig, Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, is described tonally as What Women Want meets La La Land. It follows a whip-smart, socially awkward girl in her late 20s who is suddenly given an extraordinary ability to know the deepest desires of the people around her through songs.
MOVIES: Death on the Nile - Gal Gadot to Star in Murder on the Orient Express / Agatha Christie Sequel
EXCLUSIVE: Gal Gadot has been set to star in Death on the Nile, the latest Agatha Christie adaptation set up at 20th Century Fox with Kenneth Branagh directing. The project came together last year as the studio was finding success with its Christie ensemble Murder on the Orient Express.

Actress, singer and series executive producer Raven-Symoné leads the multitalented “Raven’s Home” cast in a dynamic musical episode, “Raven’s Home: Remix,” about self-empowerment and self-expression. Directed by Paul Hoen (“ZOMBIES,” “Camp Rock 2,” “Let it Shine”) and choreographed by Will “WilldaBeast” Adams (“America’s Best Dance Crew,” “Glee”), the episode premieres FRIDAY, OCT. 12 (8:00-8:30 p.m. EDT/PDT), on Disney Channel, in the DisneyNOW app and DisneyVOD. It features eight original songs and dance numbers performed by the cast: Raven-Symoné, Issac Ryan Brown, Navia Robinson, Jason Maybaum, Sky Katz and Anneliese van der Pol.
In “Raven’s Home: Remix,” Booker sets out to land the starring role in the school’s musical about a boy who loves playing basketball and performing hip-hop. When Raven has a vision of Booker receiving a standing ovation, she’s convinced he’s perfect for the role and encourages him to go for it. However, when Nia discovers the part requires someone who is great at basketball and can rap – two things Tess excels at – she tries to convince Coach Spitz to let Tess audition for the role. When he refuses because Tess is a girl, a determined Nia takes a stand to prove girls can do anything boys can do.
The original songs featured in “Raven’s Home: Remix” were written and produced by The Heavyweights; the GRAMMY® nominated production team composed of Jamie Jones, Jack Kugell and Matt Wong; along with songwriter Hanna Jones. The multi-platinum team has delivered hit songs that have collectively amassed over 35 million units sold, including music featured in “Descendants 2” and Disney’s “ZOMBIES.”
The”Raven’s Home: Remix, The Musical Episode”digital soundtrack features original songs from the episode and will be available for download and at streaming services Oct. 7 (9:00 p.m. PDT) on Walt Disney Records.
Trashers - Hockey Team Drama from The Expanse EP in Development at FX
FX has put in development drama Trashers, loosely based on Rich Cohen’s The Atlantic article “The Mobster Who Bought his Son a Hockey Team” from The Expanse executive producer Dan Nowak, Deadline has learned.
Written by Nowak, the potential series Trashers follows a minor league hockey team owned by a small town trash hauler with mob ties.
H-Town - Cop Drama Based on Canadian Series 19-2 in Development at CBS
CBS has put in development H-Town, a drama series from writer Samantha Corbin-Miller (Law & Order: SVU, Conviction), Jeffrey Kramer’s Juniper Place Productions and CBS TV Studios.
Written by Corbin-Miller, H-Town is based on the Echo Media/Sphere Media Plus Canadian cop drama series 19-2. In the U.S. version, when two Houston detectives from opposing sides of a multi-generational family feud are paired as partners, they find themselves surprisingly drawn to each other even as they investigate a case that may have far-reaching ramifications for both their families.
MOVIES: Charlie's Angels - Jonathan Tucker Joins Reboot
EXCLUSIVE: Jonathan Tucker has been added to the Elizabeth Banks-directed Charlie’s Angels reboot, which will focus on the next generation of elite crime-fighting detectives. Tucker joins Kristen Stewart, Elizabeth Banks, Naomi Scott, Luis Gerardo Méndez, as well as both Patrick Stewart and Banks playing Bosley characters.
MOVIES: Hellboy - Reboot Release Date Pushed Back Three Months
Hellboy has been pushed back to April 12, 2019, Summit Entertainment announced Wednesday. It previously had been set to open Jan. 11, 2019. It will now open just one week after fellow superhero movie Shazam! from Warner Bros. and DC.
Hellboy stars David Harbour, Milla Jovovich, Ian McShane and Daniel Dae Kim.
Bosch - Season 5 - Billy Lush & Juliet Landau to Recur
Billy Lush (Kingdom) will play Stones, a tough, cold-blooded criminal, heavily involved in the opioid trade. Juliet Landau (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) will play Rita Tedesco, a court reporter living with a secret.
Patty's Auto - Comedy from The Big C Creator & Elizabeth Banks in Development at FOX
Fox has put in development Patty’s Auto, a multi-camera ensemble comedy from writer The Big C creator Darlene Hunt, Elizabeth Banks & Max Handelman’s Brownstone Productions and Warner Bros. Television.
Written by Hunt, Patty’s Auto is inspired by Patrice Banks’ Girls Auto Clinic, a Pennsylvania-based auto repair shop with all female mechanics. It centers on Patty and the eclectic women who work for her.

NBC is developing a father-son autobiographical comedy from Jon and Josh Silberman, Ed Helms, Mike Falbo, Marlon co-creator Chris Moynihan and Universal TV.
Written by the Silberman brothers, the untitled comedy based on Josh Silberman’s life, follows a father and son who find themselves starting their midlife and quarter-life crises the same week and make the decision to “move in together, so they can move on together.”
Big Show is set to star in a recurring role on the second season of Syfy’s hit show “Happy!” The World’s Largest Athlete has been cast as Big Pink, the cellmate of Ritchie Coaster’s diabolical character, Mr. Blue.
The InBetween - Justin Cornwell to Star in NBC Drama After Recasting
Justin Cornwell (Training Day) replaces Yusuf Gatewood (The Originals) who played the role in the pilot. The character, originally named Damien Parrish, is now called Damien Asante.
The InBetween centers on Cassie Bishop (Dyer) who was born with a gift, though she may call it a curse. She can see and communicate with the dead, helping them with their unresolved problems … whether she likes it or not. When her longtime friend Det. Tom Hackett (Paul Blackthorne) and his new partner, former FBI Agent Damien Asante (Cornwell), need help solving a darkly puzzling murder, Cassie agrees to use her abilities.
CBS Extends Deal with The Good Wife Creators Robert and Michelle King; Evil - Science Meets Religion Drama in Development at CBS
CBS TELEVISION STUDIOS EXTENDS OVERALL DEAL WITH ROBERT AND MICHELLE KING FOR AN ADDITIONAL THREE YEARS
Golden Globe Award and Emmy Award-nominated writer/producers Robert and Michelle King, co-creators of THE GOOD FIGHT as well as the previous CBS hit “The Good Wife,” have renewed their overall production pact through their King Size Productions banner with CBS Television Studios for an additional three years. Under the agreement, CBS will have exclusive rights to produce television content created and developed by the Kings across all platforms. Liz Glotzer serves as president of King Size Productions and will executive produce all of their upcoming series.
The Kings, who have been at CBS Television Studios since 2009, will continue to guide the highly successful THE GOOD FIGHT, a series that helped launch the growing CBS All Access streaming service. King Size’s newest production is YOUR HONOR, written and executive produced by Peter Moffat, and has already been picked up to series by SHOWTIME. They also have EVIL in development for CBS. A series about the battle between science and religion, EVIL focuses on a skeptical female clinical psychologist who joins a priest-in-training and a blue-collar contractor as they investigate supposed miracles, demonic possession and other extraordinary occurrences to see if there’s a scientific explanation or if something truly supernatural is at work. Additionally, they are developing GIRLS WITH GUNS, also written by the Kings, for CBS All Access in association with Scott Free Productions.

She is stationed at the border where she stats seeing things that venture into the supernatural.
